Wow what a week it has been! Probably the LONGEST week of my life! But defiantly one of the best and most important weeks of my life as well. So i know everyone is wondering what the heck im doing here, and im sorry my letters are really short, but i needed something to write about in my email! So thank you all for waiting patiently! So the first couple days in the MTC were so long, had a ton of teaching in them and i defiantly thought it would never end. Each day after has been so much better, i focus more on whats being taught. A few things that i have learned in the MTC are: well first is my missionary purpose, to invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and his atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost and enduring to the end. Thats why im here to invite other to come closer to christ! I have learned alot about how to teach effectively and how to love the investigator. The food here has been good, and im really happy about it not hurting my stomach! Dad asked what i have eaten so i will share a quick story. A little bit of background first, Elder Scott is an elder in my district. He is really great and loving, and every meal asks if he can get anything for anyone in our district. Most the time everyone says no. Yesterday he did as usual and asked and i thought i would pull a prank on him and asked for a doughnut which was not anywhere in the cafeteria. He thought that i was lying but was going to go check, but first i had to promise to eat what ever he brought back so i did. He brought back pineapples with vinegar, mustard, ketchup, 2 types of hot sauces that he didnt know and maybe other things. So i promised him i would eat it and i ate it! I did almost throw up but i knew i couldnt in front of other missionaries especially in front of sisters! but that is probably the worst thing ive eaten in here! haha my companions name is Elder Daniel Christensen. He is from payson utah and he is kinda weird. He is insane about rules and sometimes over complicates them but i pray for love with him and sometimes i wanna choke him to death, other times i love him so so much!
My district is amazing! we have 6 Elders and 4 Sister! We all get along so well and its amazing! ok some big news now. on Thurday night we meet with the brach presidency. They had personal interviews with each of us then called zone and district leaders. I was called to be a district leader! i was so overwhelmed with the call and thought i couldnt do it. But my district has been behind me the whole time and has helped me so so much! im excited to keep serving and loving my district!!! I have a few things i am required to do as district leader. One is to conduct in meetings, hold district meeting, hold meetings with senior companions and find out how every is doing, and most important getting the mail! So i would like to say that i know everyone who gets letters in my district! i would like letters also hahah jk but anyone who feels they want to write my just send me a regular letter, or a faster option is writing dear elder! I get those the same day! so please write me and make sure to tell me your address so i can write you back! O and also i leave the MTC on feb 12! thats a tuesday and im really excited to get out into the field. I love the mtc and i cant wait to leave at the same time! So i have been to the gym a few times and i play basketball every time! I destroy as usual! except wen others destroy me haha there are alot of elders who have played in high school but i still beat them;) O and tell aaliyah that i named the tiger that she gave me Elder Teddy:) I got him out the first day and introduced him to all the elders in my residence hall, and i sleep with him every night! i have taken a lot of pics with him and as soon as i figure out how to print my pics i will get some to ya!:)
Sunday was also amazing! i had alot of meeting but sacrament was amazing and we also went to the temple walk! it was great to get outside, and just btw if tracy drove by the mtc sunday and honked as she drove by then i saw her! if not then it was some random lady hahah. Well my laundry is now done and my wonderful comp is reminding me that we only get 30 minutes on the computer. I love you all! i have loved getting your letters and i will keep writing you back! I know the church is true! Im here to help others to come closer to Christ and be saved so we can all live together as a happy eternal family! I love learning and growing in the gospel! Im so excited to go out and serve and teach real people! I Love you all and Hope everything is great!
Love Elder Hall!:)
